I am often asked,“What are the benefits of an ICA class and who should attend?”<\/em><\/p>\n

Here are Warren\u2019s answers:<\/p>\n

The ICA offer a number of classes what are the differences?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  \"\"Will we learn anything about the software used on the CS class?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  Yes the great thing about a CS class is that it is run on one or more different types of software. We use the software to demonstrate the different sections of the classes. So you will pick up lots on how to use the demo software we use. We also talk about and compare all systems. You will get to use the Color Corrector.<\/p>\n

                  Do I need experience in Color grading?
                  \n<\/strong>
                  \nYou can get as involved as much or as little as you want. I have trained in the same class a 15 year veteran colorist who wanted all the hands on he could get along side somebody who didn\u2019t even have a film industry background. So no experience necessary.<\/p>\n

                  Who should attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  Colorist Strategies is aimed at guys who are normally working in another area of our industry, guys who are creative, and who what to know more about the role of a colorist. Editors, both offline and online, DPs, VFX artists and junior colorists are the ones keen on the CS classes. Basically anybody who has an eye for what they like in a picture and want to know more.<\/p>\n

                  It will give you a great overview of what is involved and what is expected of a Colorist, mixed with lots of \u201cHow to\u201d and \u201cHands on\u201d<\/p>\n

                  The CS classes are more about the \u201cArt than the App\u201d<\/p>\n

                  What is the Resolve 101?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  The Resolve 101 is designed to get you up and running with the DaVinci software, the class also includes some other useful stuff, brought in from the CS class. If you are a staff colorist of a freelancer currently using another system, the R101 will get you up and running and making money. If you have never worked as a colorist, no problem, the class is clearly explained with lots of \u201chands on\u201d the machines.<\/p>\n

                  Warren\u2019s Looks, what is that?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  The \u201cLooks\u201d class is all about creativity, how to make the classic looks, but more importantly how to customise them to suit your workflows and client needs. Bleach Bypass, Schindlers, Orange and Teal, Duotones and classic washes are just a few we look at. It doesn\u2019t matter what system you are using these looks can be made on all systems.<\/p>\n

                  \"\"How many people share a machine and control surface?<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  We try and have 2 people to a machine, so you can follow me with your machine, or watch first then swap with your training partner to get the \u201chands on\u201d.<\/p>\n

                  My training philosophy is you see it demonstrated first then you have to actually do it yourself. Otherwise 2 things will happen, (a) you might fall asleep in the class and (b) in a weeks time you might have forgotten what you have been shown.<\/p>\n

                  \u201cYou have to do it to learn it.\u201d<\/p>\n
